Oxitone’s technological break-through is in the sensor location at the top of the wrist ulnar bone. Together, we developed a unique flexible sensor that utilizes so-called trans-illumination optical technology that enables to copy and follow topography of the wrist.

The Challenge
Unlike conventional pulse oximeters, Oxitone 1000M is the first FDA-cleared wrist-sensor health monitor that works without a bulky fingertip probe and is covered by four granted US patents.
Our focus was to design a bracelet,
which is ergonomically adapted to be worn comfortably throughout the day and ensures continuous monitoring for
all wrist sizes, critical for accuracy.
We chose a combination of flexible and hard materials and innovative and advanced textiles for the wrist band.
Design
During the design process,
we focused on giving the wrist sensor an updated look which corresponds with lifestyle and sport wrist sensors.
Despite the fact that it is a medical device, the choice to wear the Oxitone bracelet is a fashion statement and not a medical necessity.

Development
The development of a wearable device begins with in-depth research and experience. In the early stages, we examined various structural configurations and the use of innovative materials in order to finalize the product architecture.
We created tens of quick models which greatly assisted us in arriving atthe best and final form to ensure the Oxitone technology works accurately
with maximum stability. Simultaneously, we researched different wearable devices and examined the best route for product development.

Ongoing and perpetual comfort and wearability.
Turn a cumbersome medical device into a comfortable and fashion forward wrist sensor.
Engineering and technology
During the design and development stages, we faced many engineering and technological challenges regarding internal components, the place-ment of soft sensors, production technology and advanced bi-componential manufacturing injection molding which ensures maximum comfort on the wrist. In addition, the device was required to be completely waterproof under the strictest standards
